The Winchester Area Society for Human Resource Management (WASHRM) is a local affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), serving Human Resources professionals, business leaders, and organizations throughout the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
Our mission is simple: to connect HR professionals, provide meaningful opportunities for professional development, and support the continued growth of the Human Resources profession in our community.

Many WASHRM programs qualify for SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDCs), helping SHRM-CP® and SHRM-SCP® credential holders maintain their certifications while continuing to expand their knowledge.

Our History
WASHRM has been serving the Winchester-area HR community for decades.
The chapter began as part of the Labor Committee of the local Chamber of Commerce. In 1986, members of that committee formed the foundation of what would become our local professional chapter and joined the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA). In 1989, ASPA became the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Today, WASHRM continues that tradition by bringing local HR professionals together for education, networking, leadership, and professional development.
